I'm Joanne Chmiola — a dimensional hair color specialist in Sarasota, FL with over 33 years behind the chair. I opened my private salon suite on South Tamiami Trail because I believe every woman who sits in my chair deserves one thing — my complete, undivided attention. No distractions. No rushing. Just you.
I've been an entrepreneur my whole life. At 12 I had a paper route. At 17 I was licensed. At 23 I opened my first salon — Shear Attraction — in Pennsylvania, built from a florist shop my dad and brother Jim remodeled. I lived above that salon for 33 years, raised my son John there, and built something I was truly proud of.
Life has taken me through some major chapters — cancer, loss, reinvention, and ultimately the courage to sell everything in Pennsylvania and start fresh in Sarasota. Every single experience brought me here, to Suite 104, doing the work I was born to do.
When I walked into My Salon Suites on South Tamiami Trail and saw Suite 104, my spirit lit up immediately. I knew this was it. A private, peaceful space where I could do my best work — one woman, one chair, one experience at a time. No corporate noise. No rushing. Just pure, intentional color and connection.
My goal is simple — I want every woman who sits in my chair to leave feeling beautiful, confident, and completely seen. Not just polished. But ready. Ready to walk back into her life feeling like the best version of herself.
